Be at the forefront of ESG Risk Management

In a rapidly changing financial landscape, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks have become a key component of sustainable banking and responsible decision-making.

We are looking for an ESG Risk Officer to join our Group Risk Department and play a key role in embedding ESG risk considerations across the Group’s risk management framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and strategic objectives.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in risk management and ESG, who is passionate about sustainable finance, data-driven decision-making and the development of innovative risk methodologies.

Your impact

  • The implementation and operationalization of the Group’s ESG Risk Framework across business units and geographies;
  • The integration of ESG factors into Credit Risk Assessment, Portfolio Monitoring and the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF);
  • The development of climate risk methodologies, including NGFS climate stress testing exercises and physical and transition risk metrics;
  • The monitoring, assessment and reporting of ESG-related risks across the Group;
  • The enhancement of ESG data capabilities through the integration of external providers, data quality improvements and automation initiatives;
  • The preparation of ESG regulatory disclosures, including Pillar III ESG requirements and CSRD reporting;
  • The development of ESG policies, sectoral limits and risk governance processes;
  • The incorporation of ESG considerations into ICAAP and ILAAP processes under both baseline and stress scenarios;
  • Collaboration with Risk, Finance, IT and Business teams to ensure effective ESG risk management and reporting;
  • Engagement with regulators, auditors and international subsidiaries on ESG-related matters.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Management or a related field;
  • More than 10 years of professional experience, including at least 4 years focused on ESG Risk Management, preferably within the banking sector, corporate environment or specialized ESG consulting;
  • Solid understanding of banking risk management frameworks and ESG regulatory requirements, including EBA and ECB guidelines;
  • Experience in climate risk assessment, covering both physical and transition risks;
  • Strong knowledge of ESG metrics, ESG data providers and methodologies used to address data gaps and proxy approaches;
  • Familiarity with EU Taxonomy, CSRD and SFDR frameworks;
  • Experience contributing to ICAAP, ILAAP, IFRS 9, stress testing and regulatory reporting processes;
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with data-driven risk management initiatives;
  • Fluency in English; Spanish will be considered an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, proactivity and a strong sense of responsibility.
